Sir Peter Geoffrey Hall, FBA (19 March 1932 – 30 July 2014) was an English town planner, urbanist and geographer. He was the Bartlett Professor of Planning and Regeneration at The Bartlett, University College London and president of both the Town and Country Planning Association and the Regional Studies Association. He was known internationally for his studies and writings on the economic, demographic, cultural and management issues that face cities around the globe.
Peter Hall has been an active participant in the local music scene playing clubs, coffee houses and other venues around the county. In the singer-songwriter tradition, he maintains both his solo-acoustic and electric ensemble careers. The best influences from Rock & Roll, Blues, Folk and Country Music have helped shape Peter's sound into one uniquely his own. His self-produced CD "Ataraxia" (1995) features nine original songs and one cover representing a variety of styles and arrangements.
LONDON - Peter Hall, who created the Royal Shakespeare Company at the age of 29, oversaw the National Theater’s move to the south bank of the Thames and exerted a commanding influence on theater in the English-speaking world for well over 50 years, died on Monday in London. He was 86. His death, at University College Hospital, was announced by the National Theater, which said the cause was pneumonia

Profile: Peter Hall set his sights on directing as a boy during the war, and was 24 when Godot landed on his desk, sealing his fate. He worked with playwrights including Pinter, ran the RSC and the National, and is rehearsing a revival of The Dresser. Regarded by some as a Machiavellian operator, by others as a pioneer, at 74 he is preparing to open a new theatre.
