Album Name Watershed. 版公司 Roadrunner Records. The album starts off with "Coil" which almost has an upbeat and romantic feel to it. Mike's voice then being replaced by a beautiful woman's. Brutality follows with the next track, and once the third track "The Lotus Eaters" starts, its hard to tell where Opeth would decide to tred next. The result is a roller coaster ride down both ends of the significant Opethian spectrum. Large, epic metal parts mixed with the beautiful elements that makes progressive music so appealing.

Opeth, interestingly, have straddled both prog aesthetics. The Swedish band's first record, 1995's Orchid, was wonderfully raw. It was half death metal and half "other stuff"- folk, prog, blues, jazz. The rawness came from a low budget and nascent songwriting, but it conveyed an atmosphere that Opeth never regained. Their records afterwards decreased in friction as their chops improved. He sounds like your lovable Swedish uncle who once recorded a folk album. But Watershed has friction, and friction brings heat. Those left cold by metal's po-faced tendencies might well warm up to it. Back to home.

Watershed", the 9th observation by Opeth was recorded at Fascination Street Studios during November/December 2007. Additional recording done at Junkmail facilities. Recorded, mixed and mastered for Northern Music Co. Bonus DVD Contents: 3 Bonus Tracks, . audio mix of the entire album extensive video content expanded artwork and more. Issued under license to Roadrunner Records from The All Blacks . Opeth - Watershed 55:09. Opeth - Porcelain Heart 5:01. Opeth - Heir Apparent (Audio) 8:51. Opeth - The Lotus Eater (Audio) 8:51. Opeth - Watershed (2008) 55:05. Opeth - Hessian Peel (Audio) 11:26.

Opeth's ninth studio album doesn't disappoint either. While Watershed isn't in the band's upper echelon of albums – a spot reserved for Damnation, Blackwater Park, and Still Life - it's still a quality record that meets, and at times exceeds, the standard Opeth has set over the years. Watershed opens up rather differently than Opeth's past works. Coil" is solely an acoustic track, but unlike the material featured on Damnation, it isn't quite as dark or depressing

Whiteflame
One of the nicest sounding records I own. Never heard this album like this before
Sti
Anyone that has this edition: how does it compare to the other vinyl releases? Is it worth owning if I already have the RSD release???
Coirad
Can't say about this one, but I wasn't very impressed by MOV's pressing of Blackwater Park (the 2008 Koch pressing is vastly superior) as there was little dynamic range and a lot of inner groove distortion. If you're a big fan of the band, I say buy it then sell whichever pressing is inferior; it's gonna hold its value, especially if it's colored.
Sirara
There are some nice inserts with artwork and band photos, but unfortunately lyrics are not included.
Cerar
You can never, ever go wrong with a Music on Vinyl release. Ever. Seriously. As for buying it if you have a different version, I've definitely done that on a couple occasions. I have the Slash re-releases of Faith No More's King for a Day and Album of the year because they have all of the bonus material, but I went back and got the MOV versions and they sound so much better. It's night and day. I didn't even bother getting the Slash versions of their other albums since MOV released them all. My copy of this comes in today, but I have the MOV release of Blackwater Park and I have never heard that album sound so good...not exaggerating.
you secret
cool, thanks :-) by the way,cd also has a booklet but no lyrics included :-)
Kashicage
I'm playing it in the store I work at right now, it honestly sounds amazing. It looks really great as well!
Gavirgas
Website says it has a booklet, so perhaps. Will confirm once I get a copy unless someone else does first.
GWEZJ
Are the lyrics included this time?Or may be some band photos?
Perilanim

My copy is a mediocre pressing. Looks mint, but plays with intrusive clicks & pops, even after multiple, thorough wetvac cleanings.
Vathennece
Of course. You bought eye-candy insteadof a vinyl record.Keep buying colored vinyl, guys. You're in for a lifetime of disappointment.
Rleyistr
DVD-6 through DVD-12 are among many so-called "5.1" mixes that make no use of the LFE channel, which therefore remains empty/undriven. Given that there is in fact no LFE stream on these titles (not even a silent one), shouldn't they strictly be categorised "5.0" instead? (NB: the cover art does falsely claim "5.1")
Hugighma
I was scared that this album would be much less than the previous, because it was so great. But this was also great, just very... different. Like they revisited some old past, and reproduced the ideas. But also they become more and more prog, with strange time signature changes, and drums that are crazy.
TheSuspect
These were supposed to be marbled green with yellow swirl but almost everyone that posted a photo of theirs had a pretty solid yellow with slight dash of green at most at the center.
Qumenalu
My copy says it was printed in the US, bar code matches up but my cat# doesnt, mine reads : RRN1- 179621...should I be making a new entry?
Usic
I picked this up and only tried playing it now. The first disc has a band called "The Oath" on it and not Opeth. Can't find anything about it online so must not be that common?
Marilbine
Sounds like either a miss-press or the wrong LP got put in your record sleeve. Is it on green vinyl too? Does it have the correct label and the wrong music or is the label for another album? Maybe this could happen when changing the vinyl master between pressings.
Freaky Hook
The one I picked up at my local record store isn't that noisy at all on sides A and C, but sides B and D are pretty noisy. I've cleaned all four sides with wood glue twice and it's probably a manufacturing defect. Anyone else with the surface noise?
Rasmus
I couldn't get to a store in time and i luckily found a few copies , i think just a handful , at Nuclear Blast. Sounds amazing. There were two pressings though. One for the EU and one for the US. So i can't say anything about the US pressing.
Kupidon
Mine is dead quite on all sides, Beutiful recording
Kipabi
No surface noise on mine, but a two inches scuff mark on D side... And it was factory sealed :(
Dranar
Mine doesn't have any problem with surface sound. The mastering sounds very clean and powerful (nice dynamics) - records are not even slightly warped. Everything perfect. I wouldn't confirm, it's a laquer or mastering issue.
Not-the-Same
Mine is warped to shit, and Rec1 is not perfectly round. Grrrrrr
fire dancer
Good pressing. Some surface noise, but I haven't washed it yet.
Gralsa
You're not able to take the back seat and enjoy the show anymore, Opeth are doing their best to challenge you, and themselves. Although signs that the legs are coming off, Watershed is as compelling as the previous.
